Hello all!
Welcome to my world of inspiration, creativity and artistry!
Since starting out as a makeup artist, I have had an entirely different, challenging and worthwhile experience. From working in a school environment filled with cute little children who do whatever you say (most of them anyway!), to entering a whole new scary world of beauty and fashion has proven to be one difficult journey so far, but heck it’s all worth it!
Art has always been ingrained inside me, but since I’ve accepted and embraced this gift, the ball has not stopped rolling. I have always been a girl who is afraid to test the waters, yet contradictively, I have always hated bowing down to conventions and what “should” or “should not” be acceptable. Art gives me that extra boost of courage to take that first step out of the land.
There is no right and no wrong in art. There is only self expression, creativity and freedom. I could tell you that I prefer cool tones on skin with a lot of yellow pigmentation. But another artist could tell you that warm tones are more suitable. You might prefer very fine eyeliner whereas another gal might prefer thick. I could make someone’s skin absolutely flawless but I could also deliberately create pale washed out skin to convey a character’s sadness and suffering, and that to me, is still beautiful.
In my art I have the super ability to break away from restrictions and conventions. And that is when my stubbornness serves me very well, when someone tells me “you can’t do that! It’s not how it should be done” or “that’s not the trend!”. Who cares about shoulds and should nots, trends or no trends. Embrace your creativity. Hold onto your freedom. Have a blast! In the end, all that matters is that you have to feel like you.
So please join me on this journey of experimentation and new experiences as I share with you about my ups and downs as a makeup artist, inspirations and my amazing experiences with photoshoots, catwalks and makeovers.
